Description

Planning to give a chalk talk as part of your interview for a faculty position in the future? Not sure what to expect from the audience in a chalk talk or how to prepare for this type of talk?

In this program, Dr. Seemay Chou, an Assistant Professor at UCSF, will provide participants with a brief overview of the chalk talk structure. She will then demonstrate her chalk talk as an example in front of several current UCSF faculty to simulate the types of questions asked during a chalk talk. The demonstration will be followed by short Q&A with Dr. Chou. Before coming to this program, we highly recommend that you watch Michael Rape’s 2017 seminar “The chalk talk for a faculty position."

If you are planning to apply for a faculty position, don’t miss this program, as it will be offered only once this year!

Speakers:

Seemay Chou, PhD, Assistant Professor, UCSF, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics
